Week 3 - in the books!

The final week, week 3, of Basketball WA State Championships happened this weekend. It was a great way to finish as a club as the U11 Girls and both the U15 Boys and Girls competed at the Bendat Basketball Centre and Warwick Stadium on Saturday and then at Bendat Basketball Centre on Sunday.

This weekend, we had a combined total of 10 teams compete from the Championships division through to Division 3. As a club we finished the weekend with a combined record or 20-20-1, with our U11 Championship Girls team making it thorugh to the semi finals, losing to the evenutal winners, the Willetton Tigers.

Again, our teams were able to take the court with great pride wearing the Senators colours. A huge shout out to the parents, who not only participated as managers, coaches and spectators - but we know you also played the part of taxi drivers! Thank you! To our coaches, thank you for the invaluable time you have spent inputting into the development, in skills and confidence for the young people taking part over the course of the championships.

Here are some stats for us as a club over the last 3 weekends. We had a total of 32 teams compete over the 3 weeks, which comprised of 294 players, 61 coaches, 32 managers and 21 referees.

Our club record was 71 wins, 47 losses and 2 draws. We had 11 teams make the finals and 4 teams compete in the grand finals with 2 teams coming away with the win.

We look forward to what WABL will bring in 2018.
